Kitchen Center Piece

I took my Old Country Roses Soup Tureen and put a salad plate on the top of it. I Put a small wreath on top of the plate and placed two angels back to back. I  then stuck some ornaments around them.

The picture above shows before put together

Wild Rice Pilaf With Mushrooms And Toasted Pecans

This is a good side dish to have with chicken, fish, or beef.
I found this recipe in Southern Lady.

Serves 2

Look for Long Grain & Wild Rice

3 T. Olive Oil
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1 (8-oz.) container sliced baby Portobello Mushrooms
1 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 cup long-grain & wild rice blend
1 3/4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans
2 T. butter
1 T. chopped fresh parsely
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add green onion, mushrooms, and garlic; cook stirring frequently, for 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add rice; cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add chicken broth, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover, and cook for 25-30 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Fluff rice with a fork. Add toasted pecans, butter, parsely, salt, and pepper stirring until well combined.

Scarlett O' Hara Punch

If you prefer a nonalcoholic punch, substitute cranberry juice for the Southern Comfort.

For a large punch bowl, double recipe

I made the nonalcohol version with cranberry juice.

PUREE:
1 cup Jellied Cranberry Sauce
1 cup Southern Comfort or (1 cup Cranberry Juice Cocktail)

STIR:
5 cups Club Soda
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
Crushed Ice
Frozen Cranberries (The amount you want to float in punch)
Lime Slices ( small cut triangles)

PUREE cranberry sauce and Southern Comfort or Cranberry juice together in a blender until smooth; transfer to a large serving bowl.

Stir in club soda, lime juice and ice. Garnish punch with frozen cranberries and limes.

Tomorrow is another day."

Fresh Cranberry Salad

Thanksgiving is upon us and what is Thanksgiving without the cranberry sauce. This is one of my favorite recipes for cranberry sauce and I have a couple of them.
I even enjoy  jellied cranberry sauce from a can sometimes, it's the kind of cranberry sauce I grew up having.
I developed a fondness for cranberry sauce that's home-made one year after having some from a wonderful restaurant in my area. It's no longer around though, went out of business. So I decided to make my own after having some of that delicious sauce.
