Tomorrow spring arrives!
I was in the mood for biscuits for breakfast and here they are. They aren't a very large biscuit.

Makes 16
3 cups flour
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 T. white sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
1 egg
Preheat to 425 degrees F.
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cream of tartar in a large mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening. Add one half of the milk.
Add egg to the other half of the milk, add to mixture. Mix well.
Turn dough out onto floured surface.
With floured hands, knead gently 10 times or until smooth.
Pat dough into 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch thickness, cut with 2-inch round floured cutter.
Place 2-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees F. for 12 to 15 minutes,
or until lightly browned. Serve warm.
